Healthy Now, Happy Later: Community Health Fair Brings Care, Hope, and Resources to Phoenix
On November 24th, Phoenix residents gathered for the much-anticipated โHealthy Now, Happy Laterโ community health fair, an inspiring event hosted by the Alex Kim Foundation and Unidos En Una Visiรณn. This collaborative initiative aimed to deliver essential health services and screenings to individuals and families, fostering a healthier, more connected community. With close to 370 attendees, the eventโs impact was profound, offering not only medical care but also a sense of hope and support. APC College students participated in providing essential medical screenings.
The dayโs primary goal was clear: to address the health needs of the community in a comprehensive, accessible manner. A total of 122 patients received complete medical evaluations, reflecting the eventโs dedication to providing high-quality care. Among these, 58 individuals underwent vision screenings, leading to referrals for optometrist follow-ups. Dental health services were equally robust, with 85 patients receiving exams and scheduling follow-up care, including treatment for four identified cases of urgent infections. These services underscored the importance of early detection and intervention in maintaining overall health.
The health fairโs reach extended beyond medical care, with pantry items distributed to dozens of families. This provision ensured that basic nutritional needs were met, demonstrating the organizersโ commitment to holistic well-being.
